01Who we are
This policy covers the PorcelainIndex app for iPhone (“the app”) and this website (“the site”). PorcelainIndex is a catalogue of porcelain pieces with their descriptions, the stories of how they were made and the difficulties of making them, together with the craft of porcelain and its history. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer of PorcelainIndex.
02What the app collects
Nothing. The app does not collect personal data and does not send any data to us or to anyone else.
- There is no sign-up, account or login.
- There are no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools in the app.
- The whole catalogue (pieces, photographs, history, craft steps and glossary) is bundled inside the app. The app works fully offline and makes no network requests.
- The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and its privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.
03What stays on your device
To remember your place in the catalogue, the app keeps a few small settings in its own storage on your iPhone. They never leave the device through the app, and we have no access to them.
- Saved pieces
- Which pieces you bookmark. They stay until you remove them.
- Recently viewed
- Which pieces you opened and when. The list keeps at most 12 pieces, and each entry is removed after 90 days.
- Guided tips
- Which tips you have already dismissed, so they are not shown again.
- Preferences
- Whether haptic feedback is on, and the last tab you had open.
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or on a computer, this app data may be included in that backup under Apple’s backup settings, like the data of any other app.
04Your controls
In the app, tap the gear button to open Settings, where you can:
- Clear recently viewed to empty the list of pieces you opened;
- Remove all saved pieces to delete your bookmarks (the catalogue itself stays);
- Show tips again to reset the guided tips;
- turn Haptic feedback on or off.
Deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of its data from the device.
05Permissions
The app does not ask for access to your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts, calendars, health data or notifications.
06Apple and the App Store
You download PorcelainIndex from Apple’s App Store, so Apple handles the download and your Apple Account under Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated statistics such as crash reports and download numbers. These cannot be used to identify you, and you can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Use of the app is also subject to the Terms of Use (Apple’s Standard EULA).
07This website
The site is a static page that presents the app. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, and it does not store anything in your browser.
Fonts from Google
The site loads its typefaces (Newsreader and IBM Plex Mono) from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information. See Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
Hosting
Like any web server, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to keep the site secure and running. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
The contact form
The form on the home page is not connected to any server. Nothing you type into it is sent, stored or seen by us. To reach us, please email inbox@gemscombosplit.click.
08When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and help you, we keep it only as long as the conversation needs, and we never sell it or share it for marketing. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.
09Children
PorcelainIndex is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to its use. Because the app collects no personal data, we hold nothing about you from the app. Everything it stores is on your device and under your control. For any email you have sent us, write to us and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA.
11Changes to this policy
If the app or the site changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect. If a future version ever needed to collect data, we would explain it here first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
